Mobile Garbage Bin (MGB) Information

The Southern Limestone Coast Council provides a two-bin kerbside rubbish (green with red lid) and recycling (green with yellow lid) collection service to residents within defined collection areas. Bins are collected fortnightly on a rotational basis.

Please contact Council's Principal Office on (08) 8721 0444 should you wish to find out more about the mobile garbage bin service areas or clarify your current designated collection day.

Bin Collection

2026-2027 SLCC Bin Collection Calendar

It is imperative that bins are placed out the night before or prior to 6am on the day of service to ensure collection.

Please ensure your bin is placed with the lid opening towards the road and the lid is kept closed to prevent animal scavenging and/or win blowing rubbish along the roadside.

Bins which are overweight (above 70kg) or contaminated may not be collected. A sticker will be placed on your bin to advise of the reason for non-collection. Non-Council issued bins will not be collected.

Bin Collection Expansions

Council undertook multiple route expansions across the district through the 2025-2026 Annual Business Plan & Budget process. These expansions ensured that residents in townships and larger settlements have access to kerbside general waste and recycling services, and at a more affordable rate than would be available if sourcing the service privately.

A map of the expanded Mobile Bin Collection service areas is available here.

Residents who do not currently have Council's Mobile Garbage Bin collection service (rubbish, recycling and Food Organics and Garden Organics) but are interested in obtaining it, are invited to express their interest via Council's Your Say DCG page. Using this information, new expansions may be proposed through the Annual Business Plan & Budget each financial year.
