The District Council of Grant offers community members the opportunity to participate in projects and/or activities that support the social and environmental outcomes for our communities.
Volunteering is a way for people to become involved in their community in a way that is interesting, personally satisfying, productive and fun. Volunteering can:
- Be full-time or part-time;
- Teach you new skills;
- Provide an opportunity for you to meet other people;
- Allow you to share your skills with others; and
- Add variety to your work experience.
In the District Council of Grant, people are already making a difference by volunteering in a wide range of tasks which assist Council in providing essential services and programs. There are opportunities within Council for community members to volunteer which are primarily based at the Port MacDonnell Community Complex.
Please contact Council for more information on our current volunteering opportunities.
If you are interested in volunteering opportunities beyond Council, the Limestone Coast Volunteer Resource Centre provides a regional service for volunteering with a hub located in Naracoorte, South Australia. The Limestone Coast Volunteer Resource Centre is part of a state and national network of Volunteer Centres who work in partnership with Local State and Federal Governments to deliver support to the volunteer sector.
