Media Release: Debut True Crime Novelist to Visit Port MacDonnell

The Port MacDonnell Community Complex are inviting all book enthusiasts to join Mercedes Mercier at the next author event to dive into her new release, White Noise.
White Noise is described as a true page turner, a novel depicting the dangerous relationship between a prison psychologist and an inmate. A book that will keep you on the edge of your seat with twists and turns from the challenges of the prison system to aftershocks of trauma.
The first-time author has the upper hand in writing thrilling crime dramas with experience working in the criminal justice system.
Having had her own brush with death, Mercedes is also an avid listener of true crime podcasts which has further expanded her knowledge of prisons, crime and offenders.
Mercedes’ unique insight into the world of crime has also sparked a rush of inspiration as a second novel is due to be published in 2023.
Growth and Tourism Manager, Rebecca Perkin, is pleased to be able to host a variety of authors at the complex.
“The popular author events provide an enticing opportunity to peek behind the curtain of writing processes and getting to know the author,” she said.
“Past events have been well attended by the community as well as budding authors and readers alike. We look forward to working with more authors into the future to continue providing captivating experiences.”
The author event will commence at 6:30pm on Tuesday, 18 October 2022.
All interested locals and visitors of the district are welcome to come along to the free event for an evening full of drama and suspense.
Mercedes will be signing copies of her book, and complimentary drinks and nibbles will be provided throughout the night, supported by The Bay Town Group Association.
