The Port MacDonnell Community Complex was delighted to deliver a two-week school holiday craft program to children and families this October.
Complex staff facilitated various activities including mask making, creating money boxes, growing ‘Hairy Harry’s’ and designing pencil pots which attracted 168 children to participate in these crafts over the two-week period.
The weekly Tuesday morning StoryTime continued and remained popular with young children and parents where they read a book of the week, sing, dance and make a book related craft. Community members were invited to a special Teddy Bears Picinic StoryTime during the second week of holidays which saw many much-loved teddy bears arrive at the Complex to join in on the fun.
The Community Complex also had many visitors to the district tour through the Maritime Museum. The Museum is located within the Complex and showcases historic artifacts and detailed descriptions of Port MacDonnell’s shipwrecks, lighthouse, wool washes, jetty, Little Penguin colony and other historically significant structures.
